The work of Elena Aitzkoa (Apodaka, 1984) consists of two long poems which are published independently, like two very thin books of scarcely 40 pages, with a great deal of space. Aitzkoa is a writer, sculptor, painter, performer and filmmaker. Her multiple and dynamic practice constructs her poetry.
Raúl Domínguez (Bilbao 1984) only does drawings. Delving and venturing into different ways of representing, this work is the fruit of a painstaking search. The drawings he presents imply reproducibility in their conception. For some time he has planned to make a book. Amorous relations and places predominate in the subjects he has chosen.
Lalavandera is a proposal by the artists Elena Aitzkoa and Raúl Domínguez. Our aim is to publish our works under a common label. In our proposal, which seeks to push the boundaries of poetry, intimacy is the key to a new politics of form.
Beginning with our own works, in the future, the aim of Lalavandera is to publish the texts and contributions of other authors. We will attempt to ensure flexibility of approach and co-existence in disparity.
Lalavandera is a developing label that seeks to be both a container and missile launcher. A way of familiarising ourselves with works that are already familiar; writing, drawing, music, films.
By this autumn (2012), we will have on paper Para Mikel and A mi hermana,by Elena Aitzkoa, and Libro de verano, by Raúl Domínguez, a precise selection of drawings through which a story is conveyed.
