The proposed work arose from the author's experience during a road trip on the "Brotherhood and Unity Highway", a motorway that runs more than 1180 km through the old Yugoslavia, connecting the four constituent states.

Eriz Moreno (b. 1982, Bilbao) holds a Master's in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna. He has been awarded various grants and prizes for projects in Armenia, Germany, Spain, the USA, Macau, Greece, Poland and the UK. Amongst exhibitions held since 2013 are his solo works Projekt Beton in the Muzeum Regionalne w Szczecinku in Poland (2013), the 18/19/2013 project to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of the Nations, exhibited in the public spaces of Leipzig, Germany (2013) and also in the BilbaoArte centre in Bilbao, Spain (2014), and Bratstvo/Jedinstvo in the Rekalde exhibition space, also in Bilbao (2016).
Collective exhibitions include Horizontes (2013) in the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Wo wir sind (Where we are) (2015) in D21 Kunstraum Leipzig in Germany, and Meeting Point (2015), shown in the Konstanz Kunstverein (also in Germany), as well as in the Kunstraum Kreuzlingen in Switzerland, to mark the 600th anniversary of the Council of Constance.
