Mallabia, 1983. Damaris Pan creates the majority of her work at a space in Bilbao's Begoña neighbourhood, which she juggles with teaching in the Painting Department at the UPV/EHU's Faculty of Fine Arts in Leioa. She studied Fine Arts there, as well as at Berlin's Kunsthochschule Weissensee. In 2014, she defended her doctoral thesis entitled Lo Bueno, lo Bello, lo Berdadero, which addressed deviations in values as the cornerstone of art. She has received a production grant, but never a residency abroad, which she hopes will happen*.
